After several requests for advertising on our web site, we've tried to figure out how to best give both advertisers and members what they want from the SDU web site.

AD SIZE

The advertisor gets a space of approximately half a display page. The ad would typically contain what's being sold, services or products and their quality and benefits and maybe a company logo, contact details, address, phone, email and possibly a link to their own web site. Email addresses will not be displayed directly but through special scripts, to prevent the advertisors email address being hung out to spammers.

As the ad is posted, there will also be an entry for two months added on our noticeboard which is a quick index, that lists the most recent updates to our web site. For example: "New advertising sponsor - Benny's Shoe Store. When clicked it'll take the visitor straight to the ad.

In our web index column we will have a Yellow Page index tab, so that visitors kan check out current SDU ads, and how their services and products are special to members or visitors to the web site.

OTHER COMMERCIAL RECOGNITION

At each of the SDU functions during the year (e.g. midsummer, spring yabbie party, etc), our advertisors will be recognised for supporting SDU. (both newspaper advertisors and web advertisors)

AD CONTENT

The advertisor will send content and optionally a logo to the web master for content approval, (including completeness, contact details, space required, etc). The ad should be in English, which both members and others can understand.

COST

The ad will cost $50 per year. Advertisors (sponsors) who already advertise in our club newsletter, will get 20% discount and thus only pay $40 for the web Ad.

Included in the cost is a two month mentioning on our index page (the notice board), highlightning the presence of a new Ad. An additional 2 month mentioning on the index page, e.g. during season specials or for Christmas, can be had for and extra $t10

Advertisors should contact the SDU president for more details on payment (account to deposit into etc) for payment details. Please send email witrh Ad content and a copy payment made to the SDU webmaster for ad approval and publicing. (NOTE do not send payment to webmaster, but pay as per SDU president's instructions).

The webmaster 's criteria for content approval are the same as for ads in our newsletter, e.g. not discriminating, decency of content, no copyright infringement, correct spelling, can fit into allocated space, etc.
